Where does the world come from? Where do we come from? Who are we? Does God exist? Did he create the world? If so - how? What is the purpose of our life on earth? This list of existential questions that have occupied mankind since time could be continued endlessly. For the first question, only two more or less abstract and contradictory explanations come to mind for most people in the Western world: the Big Bang and the biblical story of creation. But are there alternatives? How do other cultures and religions explain the origin of our earth?
Woher kommt die Welt? Woher kommen wir? Wer sind wir? Gibt es Gott? Hat er die Welt erschaffen? Wenn ja – wie? Welchen Sinn hat unser Leben auf der Erde? Diese Liste an existenziellen Fragen, die die Menschheit seit jeher beschäftigen, könnte endlos fortgeführt werden. Zur erstgenannten Frage kommen den meisten Menschen der westlichen Welt lediglich zwei mehr oder weniger abstrakte, sowie gegensätzliche Erklärungen in den Sinn: Der Urknall und die biblische Schöpfungsgeschichte. Aber gibt es Alternativen? Wie erklären sich andere Kulturen und Religionen die Entstehung unserer Erde?

Das Buch Bevor die Welt eine Form hatte – Erzählungen vom Anfang spiegelt das Ergebnis der Suche nach anderen Erklärungen für den Ursprung der Welt wieder und feiert dabei mit detailreichen Illustrationen einen kleinen Teil des wertvollen, unglaublich beeindruckenden, kreativen und uralten Gedankenguts der Menschheit.

The 88 pages of the book contain seven inspiring creation stories and many illustrations, as well as short notes and additional background information on the individual stories. In the appendix you will also find recommendations for further literature and whatnot.
Die 88 Seiten des Buches beinhalten, neben sieben inspirierenden Schöpfungsgeschichten und vielen lllustrationen, außerdem kurze Anmerkungen und zusätzliche Hintergrundinformationen zu den jeweiligen Geschichten. Im Anhang finden sich darüber hinaus Empfehlungen für weiterführende Fachliteratur oder Ähnliches.
